I know, I know, I’m very bad….

Unfortunately a lot of projects have kept me away from the keys for a while. However, I now have some free time on my hands and, thanks to the imminent arrival of my Cherry Culture NYX 50% off haul, lots of new goodies to show you.

In the meantime, here is an (old) pic of my current mani – Zoya Kotori. This one is really a three coater (this was two thick coats, I believe, so a little bit patchy) but could easily be layered over a blue, navy or green cream.

Angry Manicure

Just a quick post to show off this manicure I did the other week. I was in a foul mood, so the lovely Siobhan recommended that I did a manicure to show off that fact. Voila! The Angry Manicure was born.

The middle finger is China Glaze Ruby Pumps, a solid red glitter, whilst the other fingers are China Glaze LuBu Heels – black with red sparkles. Both are available at many good etailers including Head2Toe, Transdesign, and 8ty8Beauty.

New Summer Colours From Barry M

Barry M, home of the wonderful Dazzle Dusts, has done it again with their latest collection of summer polishes. Never one to ignore a trend (grey, turquoise and racing green were all added to their colour palette last year), they’ve brought out five new colours to match this year’s spring/summer palette.

Summer Days Are Coming

Just a quick post to share three of the polishes I’ve pawed from the latest collection by China Glaze, entitled Summer Days.

The collection contains 6 of their famous ‘glass flecked’ polishes, which give a beautiful glittering effect especially in sunlight. Somewhat like the effect of sunshine on the water. These three were the ones that caught my eye, but they also have an orange, a red, and another deep pink/red.

Aromaleigh Does Twilight

I haven’t tried these powders myself, but as a big Twilight fan, I had to post!
Miss K at Aromaleigh has designed three body powders to allow you to mimic the ‘sparkling diamonds’ skin effect that the beautiful vampires in the series have.
Personally I have no idea how they’d work on me – in winter rather than being ‘pale and interesting’ I tend to go more of a ‘winter porridge grey’, but the effects sound beautiful, and I imagine they’d be great on a night out. Click the pic to jump to the full post on the Aromaleigh blog.

Quick Archetype Cosmetics Update

I’ve had a few messages from people asking me how I’ve gotten on with Archetype cosmetics. Some time back there was a big blow up about how it was taking months to ship orders, orders didn’t arrive etc etc.
After this, Holly took on a lady named Kelli to help fill orders and keep up with emails and things got better – on 1st January they were supposedly down to a two and a half week backlog, and turnaround time was due to be down to 1 week.
However – there have been no more updates since then.

My advice? Trust your own instinct. If you want to place an order, email them first to ask about turnaround time so you have a definite answer from them, and be prepared to keep in contact if need be.

Personally, I love the colours I have from them – the texture is nice, they are well pigmented and the sparklies are dense and vibrant (nothing worse than getting a sparkly colour that doesn’t sparkle!). The price is also so low that I am willing to wait for them to turn up. However, that’s my personal opinion – it you don’t want to wait, you may be better off not ordering.

Once again, sorry to everyone for not posting for so long. Christmas came and went along with a whole heap of work, and I’ve only just got back on a blogging roll. However, I am promising to be a regular poster now! New posts will be going up tomorrow, and I will be updating my Blogroll to introduct you to some of my favourite places!
